Framing requires some time and attention to explore all the options and find the best solution for our customers, so this time set aside from other distractions during normal business hours is essential and makes for a much more enjoyable experience.

Colours offers a wide range of framing options in hundreds of styles and colors. Our goal is to make sure your frame compliments your art and fits perfectly in your home or office
All of our framing is done on-site and we typically have about
a two week turnaround time.

When you bring in something to be framed, we will consider the style, color and size of your art, as well as where you plan to hang it: the style and color of the room, the room's lighting (whether artificial, natural, or direct). We will take the time to choose among frame samples and mat colors, and will explain the different types of materials. These things make all the difference in not only whether you'll be pleased with the frame when it's complete, but also in determining what materials and steps are necessary for your framing desires and/or needs.

A frame should be made to last, and it can be just what you need to complete a work of art.

Please Note: Our framing services do not include stretching canvas, framed jerseys, repairing/restoring art work or frames.

We're here to meet your needs and
help you discover your creativity.

We host art classes for artists of all levels, and the best part—they all take place inside the store! So, if you forgot your favorite brush, or need an extra sheet of watercolor paper, you're in the right place.

Since our class schedule is continuously changing and evolving, be sure to regularly check the online class schedule below, or stop by the store location for an update on our current courses.

In this class you will discover the joy of mixing a variety of colors in a systematic way from dark to light, warm to cool, and bright hues to muted tones. You will also learn some of the ways in which watercolor pigments can be mixed and painted onto paper, such as in a puddle on the palette, or wet-into-wet on the paper. Learning to mix color is a vital skill you will need to know to be able to paint your own paintings.

You will continue to develop your painting and color mixing skills, and practice watercolor techniques. We will also consider some different principles of painting that will help you to  creatively paint your own paintings.

All supplies will be provided for your use during the class at Colours. You will also be able to purchase a supply kit.

Colours was established in 2009 and started its journey on 3rd street in historical downtown Hillsboro. In 2017, the cozy, local art supply shop moved to Main street, in the center of old town. It is our joy to share the love of art, creating, and community in a place with such a diverse and rich history.

Our customers are truly what make Colours unlike any other artists' material store. We hope to provide a place where young artists can dream, practicing artists can find solutions, and hobbyists can find new inspirations. You are what keeps the thriving art community in Hillsboro alive, and are what brings life to Colours every time you visit. Thank you!
