FINE ARTIST MATERIALS
Welcome to Colours! We are your local art supply store located in the heart
of historic downtown Hillsboro. We offer a wide selection of fine artist materials that are certain to meet your needs, whether you are a hobbyist, student, or professional artist. We carry a variety of quality painting, drawing, and crafting tools and surfaces from name brand manufacturers you trust.
(Including local companies made right here in Oregon!)
We carry supplies for painters, sculptors, print makers, drafters, sketchers, and illustrators. If we don't have what you need, we can order it for you! As long as you don't need the item right away, we can arrange for your desired materials to arrive with one of our regularly shipped orders—That way you won't have to pay shipping. Ask us about personal orders for more details.
PLEASE NOTE: We are not currently accepting custom framing orders at this time.
Our custom framer is on leave.
We will update our website to inform you when we plan to start up our custom framing services again.
Colours offers a wide range of framing options in hundreds of styles and colors. Our goal is to make sure your frame complements your art and fits perfectly in your home or office.
All of our framing is done on-site and we typically have about
a two week turnaround time.
When you bring in something to be framed, we will consider the style, color and size of your art, as well as where you plan to hang it: the style and color of the room, the room's lighting (whether artificial, natural, or direct). We will take the time to choose among frame samples and mat colors, and will explain the different types of materials. These things make all the difference in not only whether you'll be pleased with the frame when it's complete, but also in determining what materials and steps are necessary for your framing desires and/or needs.
A frame should be made to last, and it can be just what you need to complete a work of art.
We're here to meet your needs and
help you discover your creativity.
We host art classes for artists of all levels, and the best part—they all take place inside the store! So, if you forgot your favorite brush, or need an extra sheet of watercolor paper, you're in the right place. There are a variety of instructors and class subjects.
Since our class schedule is continuously changing and evolving, be sure to regularly check the online class schedule below, or stop by the store location for an update on our current courses.

Colours was established in 2009 and started its journey on 3rd street in historical downtown Hillsboro. In 2017, the cozy, local art supply shop moved to Main street, in the center of old town. It is our joy to share the love of art, creating, and community in a place with such a diverse and rich history.
Our customers are truly what make Colours unlike any other artists' material store. We hope to provide a place where young artists can dream, practicing artists can find solutions, and hobbyists can find new inspirations. You are what keeps the thriving art community in Hillsboro alive, and are what brings life to Colours every time you visit. Thank you!
